New Series: The Journey of Returning and Becoming

woman swinging on a swing between the trees

Our lives move in rhythms, and one of the most profound is this: the rhythm of returning and becoming.

We return again and again to God, to ourselves, and to the people and places that shape us. And along the way, we are becoming: becoming more whole, more free, more grounded in love.

This isn’t a straight line or a tidy process. As my friend Kelsey once shared, it’s more like a swing, moving back and forth, sometimes soaring forward, propelled by a deep knowing of God’s love, sometimes pulling back, resting in the love and acceptance of God, sometimes suspended in midair, open to the transforming power of God. Depending on the season, we may find ourselves:

  • Drawn In — invited to rest, listen, and remember that we are beloved.

  • Held in Between — lingering in the sacred tension of transition and becoming.

  • Sent Out — called to live and love with purpose, not performance.

None of these movements is “better” than another. They are all part of the same sacred rhythm. Some of us may be resting. Others may feel the push of action. And many may find themselves in the unknowns of the in-between.

Wherever you are, there’s room for it here. You’re not behind. You’re not off-track. You’re already held.

What This Series Is About

Over the next three posts, we’ll explore this journey together through the lens of Psalm 23 and the life of Jesus:

  1. Drawn In: The Invitation to Green Pastures

  2. In the Middle: Trusting God When Nothing Feels Clear

  3. Sent: Becoming People of Love in Action

Each piece will offer reflections, stories, and gentle invitations for your own spiritual journey.

A Final Word Before We Begin

There’s no “right way” to step into this rhythm. You are invited to show up honestly, however you are today. Whether you are in a season of rest, transition, or action, you are welcome.

So let yourself be here.
Let yourself turn down the noise.
Let yourself return, breath by breath, to God and to yourself.

And trust this: God is already here. Already speaking. Already loving you.
